amici e famigliari presenti,
è per me un grande onore essere di fronte a voi oggi per la presentazione di questo libro che parla della mia carriera sportiva. Ancora oggi, dopo tanti anni, provo emozione e anche un po’ di imbarazzo quando si parla di me e dei risultati sportivi da me conseguiti. Sapere che le mie conquiste sportive hanno contribuito a far conoscere San Marino nel mondo è però al contempo motivo di grande orgoglio, non lo nascondo.
Per questo ringrazio Massimo Rastelli che ha deciso di fissare sulle pagine di questo libro le emozioni indelebili dei due titoli mondiali: quello 125, di cui tra poco più di tre settimane ricorreranno 20 anni, e quello 250.
Volutamente non ho ancora letto il libro, attendo con grande curiosità il momento in cui potrò leggere i ricordi di chi ha vissuto con me quegli anni: tifosi, amici e addetti ai lavori, di cui Massimo ha raccolto le testimonianze.
Spero che anche grazie a questo libro si potrà far parlare ancora di San Marino in positivo. Lo sport è un veicolo di immagine straordinario, ne abbiamo avuto riprova di recente con la conquista delle prime medaglie olimpiche sammarinesi a Tokyo, notizia che ha fatto il giro del mondo.

It is a great honor for me to be in front of you today for the presentation of this book about my sports career. Even today, after so many years, I feel emotion and even a little embarrassment when it comes to me and the sporting results I have achieved. Knowing that my sporting achievements have contributed to making San Marino known in the world is at the same time a source of great pride, I do not hide it.
For this I thank Massimo Rastelli who has decided to fix on the pages of this book the indelible emotions of the two world titles: the 125 one, of which 20 years will take place in just over three weeks, and the 250 one.
I have deliberately not read the book yet, I await with great curiosity the moment when I will be able to read the memories of those who lived with me those years: fans, friends and professionals, of which Massimo has collected the testimonies.
I hope that also thanks to this book, San Marino will still be talked about positively. Sport is a vehicle of extraordinary image, we have had proof of it recently with the conquest of the first San Marino Olympic medals in Tokyo, news that has been around the world.
